Modern slavery statement

This statement sets out the steps Bennett & Fletcher has taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain.

Financial year 2025/26 · Approved 30 June 2026

Introduction

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take the form of slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.

Bennett & Fletcher Ltd is a recruitment and talent advisory business. We do not manufacture goods or employ workers in low-wage supply chains. Our exposure is primarily through the clients we serve, the candidates we place and the suppliers who support our operations.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It covers the financial year ending 30 June 2026 and was approved by the board on 30 June 2026.

Our structure and business

Bennett & Fletcher is a global technology talent firm. Our registered office is in London, and we have hubs in Amsterdam, New York, Singapore, Austin and Dubai. We provide permanent, contract and executive search services, technical assessment and embedded hiring support. We employ around 200 people across 11 countries.

Our supply chain

Our main suppliers are:

  • IT, software and cloud hosting providers;
  • email, communications and collaboration tools;
  • finance, legal and professional advisers;
  • office services, facilities and travel providers;
  • assessment and psychometric tool providers.

We assess suppliers for their labour practices, compliance with applicable law and commitment to ethical employment. All suppliers are expected to comply with our supplier code of conduct, which prohibits forced labour, child labour, human trafficking and unlawful recruitment fees.

Our policies

We operate the following policies:

  • anti-slavery and human trafficking policy;
  • equality, diversity and inclusion policy;
  • whistleblowing policy;
  • supplier code of conduct;
  • candidate and client charters;
  • data protection policy.

Our policies are reviewed annually by the board and are available to all colleagues.

Due diligence and recruitment practices

We do not charge candidates for finding them work. We do not withhold passports or identity documents. We verify right-to-work status in line with UK law, and we do not use recruitment practices that create debt bondage or forced labour.

For contract and interim placements, we check that the employing entity is legitimate, that the worker has a written contract and that pay and conditions meet applicable standards.

Training and awareness

All colleagues complete modern slavery awareness training during induction and every two years thereafter. Our consultants are trained to recognise the signs of exploitation and to escalate concerns through our whistleblowing process.

Risk assessment

We assess our modern slavery risk annually. The main risks are:

  • suppliers in lower-wage economies;
  • contract placements in sectors with complex supply chains;
  • candidates who may be vulnerable to exploitation or unlawful recruitment fees;
  • third-party intermediaries.

We review these risks with the board and update our controls where needed.

Key performance indicators

We track:

  • completion of modern slavery training;
  • supplier compliance with our code of conduct;
  • reported concerns and the time taken to resolve them;
  • candidate complaints about fees or document retention;
  • contract placements reviewed for compliance.
